I’m back!

It’s been sometime since I’ve actually written anything on my blog I know, but I thought it was time I got back to it. 

So what’s been happening?  Well quite a bit really. My daughter and son and his partner have moved house. My son has moved jobs and his partner has opened her own business and is doing very well. And me Ive been busy helping them both, I’ve even done a couple of stints at my sons partners new eatery, great fun but hard work.

I’ve also been busy knitting, sewing, gardening and cooking. I’ve made jam, pickles and have given bread making a go. I’ve also knitted a mountain of teddies and bunnies along with other little critters. In the most recent cold snap before Christmas I knitted a great number of dog jumpers great fun and quite something to see the  various pups about clad in the jumpers I’ve knitted. I also made a regency style dress for my sons partner Kate when they went to  Bridgerton Event I was rather pleased at the outcome.

As this new year begins I’m knitting more teddies so keeping busy and the Seville orange  season is with us again so time to make marmalade.

Post lockdown get together with family

Finally got to see Toby and Kate again following many weeks of lockdown. What better way to celebrate Ken’s 64th birthday than a small family get together. Bryony and I knocked together some charcuterie and cheese boards to put on a spread.

A great day was had by all but way too much food I think we’ll be eating this for several more days. Happy Birthday Ken.

Trying times mean we have to keep trying.

Well I’ve been away for a while, but I’m back and hopefully this time it will stick. Since I’ve been away our pup has grown into a lovely little chap, I’ve had a hysterectomy (a hideous experience) and the world has been turned upside down by COVID-19, and I’m wondering if anything will ever be the same again. 

But less of this what have I been up to, other than the above. Well I’ve been busy, very busy. I rediscovered knitting and below are just some of the things I’ve made. It was recovering from my hysterectomy op which made me plump for knitting as it didn’t require any heavy lifting, very little equipment and could be taken almost anywhere to work on. 

I’ve also made several masks and done a few bits of patchwork, as well as lots of mending ( a never ending task) See Below

Ive  also done a whole Lot of fruit picking followed by heap of baking, jam 
making

I also did some tie dying with my daughter which was fun 

And finally we have done a whole lot of walking finding many routes we didn’t know existed and finding some beautiful scenery which has changed through the last few months 

As you can see Pip has grown into a real cutie pie

Well that’s just a few pictures. Haha I’m hoping the world gets back to normal soon so we can visit family and give people a big hug soon but if we have to continue like this for a while then I’m sure there’s plenty to still do. I hope everyone is keeping well and you’ve still got jobs, home and your health. For those of you who have suffered loss my heart goes out to you. Keep safe and be kind.
